CVPIS vs. Awarda: Which Tool Does Your Business Actually Need?
Awarda Editorial · · 6 min read
A clear comparison of Lithuania's official procurement portal CVP IS and the automated monitoring platform Awarda — what each does, what it doesn't, and how they work together.
CVP IS: the mandatory procurement portal
CVP IS (Centrinė viešųjų pirkimų informacinė sistema, at cvpis.lt) is Lithuania's official public procurement platform, administered by the Public Procurement Office. Every Lithuanian public authority is legally required to publish its procurement notices there, and all bid submissions, questions, and official communications happen through the portal.
If you want to participate in Lithuanian public procurement, CVP IS registration is non-negotiable. You will need a qualified electronic signature to submit bids.
Where CVP IS falls short for daily monitoring
CVP IS does not offer personalised alerts, CPV-code-based filtering, or cross-portal aggregation. To avoid missing notices, you must check the portal manually every day, apply filters, and decide for yourself which notices are relevant — a process that typically takes 30–60 minutes per day.
CVP IS also covers only Lithuanian national procurement. EU-level contracts published in TED are outside its scope, so companies targeting multiple markets need to monitor both portals separately.
Awarda: the monitoring layer on top
Awarda is not a replacement for CVP IS — it is a monitoring and discovery tool that sits in front of it. The platform aggregates CVP IS and TED notices daily, scores each one against your company profile, and delivers a ranked digest so you can act on relevant opportunities before your competitors even notice them.
You still submit bids through CVP IS. Awarda's value is in the discovery phase: knowing sooner, qualifying faster, and allocating your bid team's time to the highest-fit opportunities.
Side-by-side comparison
CVP IS: free, mandatory for bid submission, covers Lithuanian national tenders, no personalised alerts, requires daily manual monitoring. Awarda: from €79/month, optional, covers CVP IS + TED + other national sources, automated daily digest with fit scores, 3-day free trial.
Most businesses that win public contracts regularly use both: Awarda for discovery and early qualification, CVP IS for the actual bid process. The two tools complement rather than compete with each other.
